Clear Speech Kids is an independent Speech and Language Therapy service for children delivered by Pooja Kulkarni, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist based in Orpington, Bromley, SE London, UK. Pooja is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). 

After completing her Psychology BSc degree with Honours from the University of Manchester, Pooja qualified from her post-graduate Speech and Language Therapy PgDip course with a Distinction from the University of Greenwich in 2015. She then worked with children with a wide range of communication needs in clinics, pre-schools and mainstream schools through the local NHS service for several years, before setting up Clear Speech Kids in 2022. 

Pooja specialises in speech sound delays/disorders and has helped numerous children achieve clear speech. She also has specialist skills in helping children with developmental language disorders and stammering. Pooja’s further training and CPD includes: Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme-3, Core Vocabulary Therapy, Cycles, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, Minimal Pairs, Multiple Oppositions, Rapid Syllable Transition Treatment, Cleft Palate and Cleft Speech Characteristics, Colourful Semantics, Shape Coding, Makaton Signing for Professionals, Derbyshire Language Scheme, Developmental Language Disorders, Palin Parent-Child Interaction for Stammering and Palin Stammering Therapy for school-age children. She is currently part of an expert panel of clinicians in a 2023 research study on speech sound disorders.

Pooja has a friendly and caring nature and enjoys getting to know each child to maximise the effective of therapy. She provides fun and engaging sessions and is passionate about helping children achieve their goals, building their confidence, providing quality intervention and supporting the team around the child. She also enjoys building relationships with both monolingual and bilingual families, coming from a varied linguistic and cultural background herself (UK, India and Australia). Outside of work, Pooja enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her two cats Eevee and Luna.
